Honolulu parks closed due to severe weather excluding shelters

As of 5 p.m. Monday, all City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation parks, nature preserves, botanical gardens, and public facilities are closed to the public due to severe weather. These closures do not include the four emergency shelters at Kalākaua District Park, Mākaha Community Park, Sunset Beach Recreation Center, and Kailua District Park.

A determination on when these facilities will reopen will be made Dec. 7. As of this announcement the entire island of O‘ahu remains under a Flash Flood Warning with a Brown Water Advisory issued for all coastal waters.
