Halekauwila Street Pavement Repairs Starting July 19

The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) will partially close Halekauwila Street, between Richards Street and Punchbowl Street, to perform necessary pavement repairs, beginning Monday, July 19, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Weather and conditions permitting, the work is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 30, 2021.

Please be advised that the Department of Design and Construction will also be performing road work on Alakea Street.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to please avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible, allow for extra travel time, and to abide by posted traffic signs. Special Duty Honolulu Police Department Officers will be posted at the work site to assist with traffic control.

Access from Nimitz Highway to Halekauwila Street, and to driveways along the construction portions of the road, may be restricted while work is being performed fronting affected properties. Emergency access will be accommodated as needed.

For questions or concerns in regards to this construction project, please contact DFM’s Division of Road Maintenance at (808) 768-3632.
