Oahu Hiking Trails Are Closed

In addition to parks and beaches, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announced that Oahu hiking trails are closed. These include all trails in state forest lands on the island and with immediate effect.

Initially, the Access Program and Na Ala Hele trails were exempt from DLNR’s previous statement last week Thursday when the announcement about the closure of Oahu state parks and beaches was made. However, these are both now also closed.

The park closures include sand bars and islets, although people are allowed to traverse parks in order to get to the ocean. Passing through parks for exercise is also allowed along with fishing.
