by: Juergen T Steinmetz |

On a Monday and busy afternoon at 12.35 pm, a young boy lost his young life while on vacation in Hawaii. He drowned in the beautiful oceanfront pool at the Westin Maui Resort in Kaanapali.

First responders were called to the scene at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Kaanapali, but could not save the child.

A bystander performed CPR on the unconscious 4-year-old boy. Emergency crews took over rescue efforts.

Unfortunately, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy was a visitor from White Plains, New York. His name is Daelyn Ntwaagae. The ongoing investigation showed no signs of foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled.

eTurboNews contacted Marriott Public Relations and the hotel, but calls were not returned.

It’s unclear if lifeguards were on duty and what, if anything, they did to assist.

The fear of legal investigation apparently prompted the hotel management not to issue a statement or comment on this tragic incident.
