472 New Hawaii COVID-19 Cases: 8/11
In the latest COVID-19 report from the Government of the Aloha State, there are 472 new cases with a positivity rate of 7.45%. Today’s COVID-19 case count of 472 new cases is a partial count. The electronic laboratory reporting system was interrupted for approximately 20 hours on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11. As a result of this interruption, there is a delay in the reporting of an unknown number of cases. The electronic laboratory reporting system is back online and the Department of Health anticipates all delayed test results will be reported in the case counts Thursday and Friday.
At present, there are 263 people hospitalized due to COVID-19 of which 23 were vaccinated. Two more people died bringing the total deaths to date at 545 (1.1%). Both deaths occurred on O‘ahu. They are both female – 1 aged 40-49 with underlying conditions and 1 aged 80+ with underlying conditions.

Maui County: 66
C&C Honolulu: 298
Kauai County: 17
The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 47,848 (up 0.9% from the previous day). To date, 1,925,345 COVID-19 tests have been conducted with 45,482 resulting in a positive reading and marking today’s positivity rate at 7.5%. Currently, the average daily cases is 523.1. There were a total of 6,352 cases reported in the past 14 days.
New restrictions:
No indoor gatherings greater than 10 people, no outdoor gatherings greater than 25 & large structured events must get special approval from counties.
