New PR Director at Fairmont Orchid Hawaii
The Fairmont Orchid is pleased to welcome Catherine Cambra as the new Director of Public Relations & Communications. Cambra assumed the position on July 23, 2018 and brings several years of communications experience to the 540-room oceanfront luxury resort. In her new role, Cambra will be managing media relations and developing campaigns for digital and traditional media.
“We are delighted to have Catherine Cambra join our Fairmont Orchid ohana,” says General Manager Kelley Cosgrove. “Her diverse background in communications, commitment to service and passion for the island of Hawaii will serve our guests tremendously. I look forward to working with her to continue curating memorable experiences for our guests and deepen our community partnerships.”
Cambra served most recently as an account executive for Anthology Marketing Group, where she was a primary client contact for the Island of Hawaii Visitors Bureau, Travaasa Hana (Maui) and International Market Place (Oahu). Prior to becoming a public relations professional, she enjoyed a decade-long broadcasting career as a television reporter and radio host. Cambra earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Emerson College. She was born and raised on the island of Oahu.
“I grew up immersed in Hawaiian culture, as several generations of my family have called Hawaii home,” shares Cambra. “I’ve always felt a deep-rooted connection to Hawaii Island in particular because of its strong connection to the aina (land). I’m honored to represent a property that introduces people to the rich cultural heritage that I’m proud to call my own.”
Cambra has traveled the world in pursuit of humanitarian projects. She is passionate about orphan care, cultural immersion and sustainability efforts. She is looking forward to discovering all of the great snorkeling spots on the island of Hawaii, where she currently resides with her husband and two children.
