Closing restaurants next? 64 COVID-19 infections on Hawaii
On the day the State of Hawaii is preparing for a major hurricane, the Department of Health is reporting 64 new infections of COVID-19 in the State. 55 cases are in Honolulu County on Oahu.
Yesterday the State recorded 73 new cases. This is an alarming trend for anyone in the State after 1 digit numbers were the norm.
State Health Director Bruce Anderson thinks people letting down their guards during July Fourth festivities may have driven the surge in cases in recent days.
Lt. Gov. Josh Green called the surge “an incredible concern.” He is urging the governor to go a step back, including eliminating inside dining in restaurants.
