Eh, so what? You like talk story?
The Hawaii Talk Story Festival has a brand new Spring Edition!
From your computer, tablet, or phone, you can enjoy videos of our storytellers wherever you can access the Internet via the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation’s YouTube Channel, Facebook Page, or Instagram Feed. The first five videos will be available on YouTube beginning Friday, March 19 at 4 p.m., with the remaining four stories available on Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole Day, Friday, March 26. We encourage you and your ‘ohana to join us from wherever you are, on whichever platform is best for you.
The Spring Edition’s theme is “Ho‘omau: to Continue,” with stories from Jon Kamakawiwoʻole Osorio, Kuahiwi Moniz-Tran, Tyler Tanabe, Manakō Tanaka, Daryl Bonilla, Maki‘ilei Ishihara, and Kathy Collins. Mo‘olelo topics are as diverse as our colorful cast of storytellers, ranging from family endeavors, the adventures of growing up, Hawaiian & Japanese legends, and a story entirely in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i!
This event is free, open to the public, and keiki-friendly. For more information please visit the Talk Story Festival webpage. We hope you enjoy our first ever Talk Story Festival Spring Edition!
