Hawaii Reports Staggering 622 New COVID-19 Cases
The Hawaii Department of Director, Dr. Elizabeth Char, is urging residents to get vaccinated as he reported today’s new COVID-19 cases at a staggering 622. The highest single-day record of new cases before today on August 13, 2021, with 355 new cases being reported.
According to Dr. Char, the 622 new cases being reported includes cases that were not reported on Wednesday of this week, however, this is the same rationale that was given a couple of days ago with regard to the daily new cases. Char said they have been dealing with an interruption to their reporting system.
“We’re very very concerned about it and at this point there’s no real reason to think that the trend will change. Without us doing something different I think the message remains, we know what works. The No. 1 tool we have for this pandemic is to get vaccinated. We know it’s safe and we know it works,” Dr. Char stated.
The Delta Variant is wreaking havoc everywhere and is highly contagious. The CDC just reported that it is as contagious as the Chicken Pox.
In yesterday’s report, hawaiinews.online asked the question, how long will it take Governor Ige to mandate masks once again. California has a mask protocol back in place, and time is of the essence.
While being fully vaccinated certainly helps to combat the symptoms of COVID19 and the Delta Variant, it does not mean those who are may not be asymptomatic and spreading the coronavirus.
