TheHandi-Van Eligibility Center Now Open
The City and County of Honolulu announced that TheHandi-Van Eligibility Center is again conducting in-person assessments for those wishing to extend or apply for TheHandi-Van eligibility. TheHandi-Van is a public transit service for people with disabilities who are unable to independently use TheBus.
In light of recent events surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus, TheHandi-Van Eligibility Center staff are taking steps to reduce the risk of contagion for guests and employees. The office and all touchpoints within are sanitized by staff, with EPA approved anti-microbial agents. The staff wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including N-95 masks and gloves, and appointment schedules and procedures will be adjusted to maintain proper social distancing within the office and waiting areas.
