Driver Licensing Clerk Contracts Coronavirus

The city’s Department of Customer Services confirms that a driver licensing clerk has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Wahiawa Driver Licensing Center employee, who is now under self-quarantine, was last at work Wednesday, December 9.

The Wahiawa Driver Licensing Center will be closed to the public for the next 10-to-14 days, beginning today for deep cleaning and quarantining for safety. All customers with road test appointments are being contacted to reschedule.

Since Oct. 1, road test has been the only service offered at the Wahiawa Driver Licensing Center, due to the limited size of the facility, and for the protection of both customers and employees. All other services, including the written exam for road tests at the Wahiawa Driver Licensing Center, have since moved to the Kapolei Driver Licensing Center.

“We are supporting the individual who is recovering,” said Sheri Kajiwara, director of the city’s Department of Customer Services. “We are following all guidelines from local officials, and are taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of our employees as well as the public.”
