Hearings Officer Recommends Suspension of Red Hill Fuel Storage on Oahu

The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) has received the recommendation of hearings officer David Day regarding the U.S. Navy’s compliance with the state’s Emergency Order to suspend operation and empty the underground tanks at the Red Hill fuel storage facility.

The recommendation will be posted on the DOH website.

The Navy and intervening parties have until December 29 at 5 PM to submit exceptions or objections to the recommendations. If filed, exceptions and objections will be considered by DOH Deputy Director Marian Tsuji prior to her making a final decision.

Deputy Director Tsuji has up to 30 days from today or 30 days from the filing of exceptions or objections to render a final decision.
