Koko Crater Botanical Garden closed during parking lot work

Koko Crater Botanical Garden is scheduled to be closed from Monday, Aug. 2 through Wednesday, Aug. 4 in order to resurface the garden’s parking lot and create a more sustainable and user-friendly parking area.

This resurfacing project will install a layer of subsurface base course, designed to provide a more solid foundation for the parking lot, improve parking conditions for garden visitors, and potentially reduce the need for regular maintenance. Previous parking lot repairs were conducted in June 2019 for surface-level maintenance, including to address potholes.

Access to the Koko Crater Stables will be allowed, but will require coordination with the DPR specialized maintenance staff conducting the work.

Koko Crater Botanical Garden, located inside Koko Crater at 7491 Kokonani St., is normally open daily from sunrise to sunset and contains a diverse collection of dry land plants and plumeria trees. We appreciate the patience and understanding of garden visitors while this maintenance is being conducted.
