Rehabilitation of Maliona Street Box Culvert to begin in Wai‘anae

The City and County of Honolulu, Department of Design and Construction, will begin construction of the Rehabilitation of the Maliona Street Box Culvert project, located at 87-182 Maliona Street in Wai‘anae on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021. The work will be performed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding holidays, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 13, 2021.

The work includes: repair of cracks and spalls at the box culvert concrete walls and slab; installation of Fiber-Reinforcing Polymer to strengthen the load capacity of the box culvert; and roadway striping. “No Parking” signs will be posted on Maliona Street, between the box culvert and Kulaaupuni Street, for the construction work area and contractor equipment staging area. The City appreciates the community’s patience while the work is being performed.
