Passengers Surge to Hawaii

Thursday, October 15, marked the first day of Hawaii’s travel re-opening day, and a surge of 10,102 passengers arrived by air yesterday at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on the island of Oahu. The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) has approved the COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) authorized by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. Over 660 Hawaii airport workers will be permanently laid off on October 15, the same day that the state is reopening tourism.
